The Best of 2014

I know I’m late for talking about my 2014 highlights, but I enjoyed a few weeks off blogging to spend time with my family! Now, I’m back at blogging, and I’m excited for what’s to come this year! 2014 was a great year for training and racing! I had a great time learning, experiencing new things, and becoming a better athlete! Here’s my ‘Best of 2014’ highlights. :)

January: I didn’t have any races, but I wrote some good posts-here was my most popular one of the month: Making your own hot and cold packs! 

February: I began my sponsorship with my chiropractor which led to a very healthy year for my back!

March: I started the T25 Beta workouts. IMG_0934[1]

April: My first race of the year! The ORRRC Xenia Marathon! I placed 1st overall female and got a new PR! medal pic

May: My husband and I celebrated our anninversary!

June: Two races for me this month. The Deer Creek Olympic distance triathlon, and the Ironman 70.3 Syracuse triathlon! 10321143_10152527309249508_5775783729022074453_o

July: I placed 5th in my age group at Ironman 70.3 Muncie AND qualified for Ironman 70.3 World Championships! DSC06561

August: To help out my cousin, I raced a 5k where I placed 1st overall and had a great time! IMG_20140823_082009779

September: My HUGE month! I competed in The Ironman 70.3 World Championships!! 10592825_970729309934_4118462484473921889_n

October: I helped one of my best friends achieve her dream of running a double marathon! My husband and I spent the day crewing and pacing for her! She wrote about her experience running it here. DSC07441

November: I joined the Ohio River Road Runners Club (ORRRC) and raced my first ever 10k! Then, in the middle of the month, we got a dog!IMG_1485[1]

December: I competed in my first ever indoor bike time trial! Then, I finished off the year with a win at the ORRRC Winter Solstice 10 Miler! 10888591_875851979133939_5041367386191992404_n

As you can see, 2014 was a PACKED year! I can’t wait to see what 2015 holds for us!! Thanks for being my devoted readers!
