I’m sure you’ve heard me complain about waking up early to workout in the fall and winter when it’s dark out! I have been struggling even more this fall than in the past. John discovered an alarm clock that simulates the sun rise, and this week, he bought it for me!
I was a little apprehensive about it at first, but now, I love it!
Here’s how it works…
A half hour before you set the “alarm” to go off, the little orb starts to have a faint light. Slowly, the light gets brighter and brighter, until the whole room is filled with a warm light. Then, when the “alarm” goes off, birds start chirping! It’s so peaceful and gentle!
The first time I woke up to it, the light started to wake me up before the “sun” was completely risen. I naturally rolled over and put the covers over my head and fell back asleep. Then, when I heard the birds chirping, I actually thought they were real birds outside!
I think I’m really going to like this alarm clock! I’m actually thinking about putting it on my window sill so that it looks like light is shining through the blinds. Anyone else like me struggle to wake up early when it’s still dark out? How do you cope?
