I mentioned last week that I have been working on swimming drills a lot in my off season. For those of you wondering, I get most of my swimming drills from the book called Swim Speed Secrets. I have been doing 40 minutes of drills plus a 10 minute warm-up and cool down. I think the drills will help me improve my range of motion, and my speed! Here are some of the drills I’ve been doing.
I don’t know what these things are called, but I hate them They make it very difficult to pull-the idea is to achieve very efficient and strong pulling.
Lastly, I’m working on my breathing technique. This picture may look good, but my head is actually too far out of the water still. The most efficient breathing is for you to breath with one eye still under water.
So that’s what I’m working on with swimming! I will be doing my swim test in a few weeks-I don’t anticipate being faster than when I tested in August, but I still need a knew “baseline” to base my workouts on!
