Weekly Training Update: 1st week of the season

I’ve now completed my 1st week of training of the season! Let me give you my weekly training update. A LOT happened this week! Let me tell you about my workouts, and a little about the week.

Sunday: I took Mya for a 3 mile run in the morning, then I did a 2 hour easy bike ride in the afternoon.

Monday: My first day back in the gym in 3 weeks! I enjoyed my lifting workout, and then I swam a 2,500m workout. In the evening, the hubs and I went out on a date, and I did my nails all pretty! image1 (2)

Tuesday: It snowed 4 inches over night, and it was freezing cold in the morning, so I opted out of my run, and just did an hour bike ride.

Wednesday: My first official bike workout for the season! It was a hard one, but I got through it! 90 minutes total.

Thursday: -4 degrees in the morning! The snow was still on the ground too, so I hit the gym for a 6 mile run, and a 2,4500yd swim.

Thankful my gym has a track so I can do my workouts on that instead of a treadmill!

Friday: 2 hour bike workout in the morning. My legs were DEAD! I wanted to wimp out on my lifting in the afternoon, but I made myself go still, and I was glad I did! I had a great lift!

Saturday: I raced the Grant Park 6 mile trail race in the morning (I’ll give a recap on Thursday!), then in the afternoon, we adopted our new dog! Mya’s brother, Durango!!
