Weekly Training Update: Rest Week!

It’s Sunday! That means it’s time for my weekly training update! There’s not much to update you on this week, because for the first time since last year, I took a rest week! After my race on Sunday, I took a full week of R and R for both physical and mental rest! It has been very much needed! Now I’m itching to go for a swim, bike, or run!!! I may head out for a trail run with a friend of mine this afternoon. :) Here’s what last week looked like:

Sunday: 70.3 World Championships!! ‘Nuff said :) 10592825_970729309934_4118462484473921889_n

Monday: We drove back from Canada ALLLLLL day! Took us 14 hours. Yea, it was a long day! We literally emptied our car and dropped into bed the second we got home.

Almost back to the U.S.!

Tuesday: We both had to go back to work. We each had long, busy days, but when we got home, we went for about a 1 mile walk to stretch our legs a little.

Wednesday: Another busy day at work! John and I did another 1 mile walk in the evening, and then I did my T25 Stretch video. I was feeling stiff, so it was needed!

Thursday: A local running group in our town was doing a 9/11 Memorial Run/Walk 5k, so we joined them! John wanted to walk it, so I just stayed with him and enjoyed myself. :) It was really cool walking with other people carrying flags! We walked down busy streets and cars would honk at us every few seconds in approval. Pretty cool. :)

Friday: SUPER busy day at work for me…..I was glad I didn’t have the added stress of having to work out. We didn’t do anything even mildly active this day.

Saturday: One of the perks of not having a long run and swim on a Saturday–you can go out to breakfast with your hubs!

We had a nice relaxing meal, then ran errands and headed home to clean the house. :) In the evening, we went for a lovely walk.

So that was my week! Pretty light on the workout side!! I’m ready to ease back into some workouts now, and prepare myself for some “off season” training. :)

What do your rest weeks look like after a race?
