Weekly Update: Race decision week!

I had to make some decisions about my training this week, because half-way through the week I made the decision to add a couple spring races to my schedule! As a result, I toned my training down slightly to begin a small taper. Here’s what my week looked like.

Sunday: T25 Dynamic Core in the morning, followed by a 2 hr, 30 min bike ride in the afternoon.

Monday: T25 Upper Focus, and T25 Rip’t CircuitIMG_0934[1]

Tuesday: 6.3 mile hill workout in the morning (got to try out my new Newtons!), then after work I did 2,300 meters swimming. IMG_0930[1]

Wednesday: 1 hr, 50 minute bike workout in the morning (SO hard!), then T25 Speed 2.0 in the evening.

Thursday: 6.3 mile tempo workout in the morning. In the evening, I was super tired after a long day at work, so I skipped my swim :( BUT, I got to go to bed super early as a result, and that was well worth it.

Friday: 2 hr bike workout that I BARELY made it through…my legs were still dead from Wednesday’s hard bike. I was glad I finished it though!

Saturday: Instead of doing a 20 mile run as originally planned, I shortened it by 30 minutes since I’m now signed up for a marathon in two weeks! So I did 16.4 miles. Later in the afternoon, I did the T25 Stretch video to loosen up. After lounging around most of the afternoon, John and I finally made it to the pool to swim. I actually felt great, and had an awesome long workout of 4,600 meters. Guess taking Thursday off wasn’t too bad for me!

Totals for the week:

T25: 4 Workouts + 1 stretch video (2 hrs, 5 min)

Running: 29 miles (3 hrs, 38 min)

Biking: 6 hrs, 20 min

Swimming: 6,900 meters (2 hrs, 23 min)

Total training time: 14 hrs, 26 min

How did your week of training go? Do you have any races coming up soon that you’re getting ready for? I’d love to hear what your spring plans are!
