So, I’m pretty late posting my pregnancy update, and there’s a reason for that! Baby E came earlier than expected! I made it through 38 weeks feeling awesome! In fact, I ran the day before he was born, so I was quite surprised when I woke up the next morning in labor! We are doing super well though; I had a short, smooth labor and delivery, and a very fast recovery! I have actually done a few 2 mile walks on the treadmill already, annnnnd I think this week, I’ll start some low impact T25 workouts (the super easy ones with the modifier moves). I realllllly am itching to get back to running, but I’m not quite THAT recovered yet. I’ll probably venture out around 3-4 weeks postpartum depending on how I feel and how baby’s schedule works out. Currently, I’m happy to be going throughout my day pain free and able to keep up with my two year old pretty well! Thankfully, baby E is super patient and laid-back, so the hardest part is keeping my little two year old entertained while I’m feeding E! It’s a juggling act, but I’m confident we will adjust.
So, I know what you really want to see are the pictures, so here’s my 38 week bump and my 39 week ‘bump’.
By the time all was said and done, I had gained just 18lbs during the pregnancy (same as I did with my first pregnancy). I guess my body just won’t gain more than that for now! Anyway, I’m currently up 3lbs from my prepregnancy weight, and I’m hoping to hold onto those pounds because I think (hope) they are muscle that I gained from lifting throughout the pregnancy! Fingers crossed…
We are currently trying to keep him inside and out of the public for as long as we can in hopes of limiting germs. It’s hard when your two year old goes to preschool which is essentially a germ factory! We are excited to get out more and more as the weather warms up (if the weather warms up)! Wish us luck as we adjust to a family of 5!!
